DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) Website Redesign
For the DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) Website Redesign Project, I led the transformation of the DCHR Homepage, Employee Benefits, Employee Retirement, and Employee Wellness pages, navigating the constraints imposed by DC government rules and policies.
My responsibilities included a thorough review of the existing website, creating mock-ups, designing graphics, developing prototypes, and executing front-end coding. The redesign aimed to address navigation problems from previous content migrations, reduce maintenance requirements, and modernize the site to improve user engagement across all age groups. I enhanced navigation by consolidating side menus and implementing accordion features to simplify content access. I also revamped and launched pages with prominent visual elements and reorganized navigation paths for a better user experience.
Additionally, I introduced new features such as the Service Selector section and embedded videos to boost content accessibility. Throughout the project, I provided continuous support and updates to maintain site functionality and relevance, resulting in a more intuitive and user-friendly web presence that effectively highlighted the department's resources and services.
